Welcome to Leanne Alanson Counselling Services

Helping you reconnect to your strength, courage and happiness

About Me

Hello, my name is Leanne, a qualified and compassionate counsellor offering support for a wide range of emotional challenges, with a special focus on bereavement and loss as well as health anxiety. I am an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I qualified as a therapeutic counseller as a second career, after raising my family and running a family business.

Since 2023 I have been fortunate enough to be part of a counselling team for a Surrey hospice, helping bereaved relatives navigate various challenges. In recent months I've also extended my work in the community as a palliative care counsellor, working with patients dealing with life-limiting illnesses.

In addition to my hospice-based work, I also run a private practice in a peaceful and welcoming office in Guildford. From here I offer face to face and online sessions. At times I will also offer home visits but this is under certain terms and may include additional travel fees which can be discussed at the time of booking.

Whatever you’re facing, I’m here to offer compassionate, non-judgmental support and understanding to help you reconnect with your innate strength, courage and happiness.

My Approach

Each person’s experience is unique, and so is my approach. I work drawing from a range of therapeutic techniques, including person-centered therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for anxiety, grief counselling, and mindfulness-based strategies.

Working Together

Whether you are navigating the deep pain of loss, struggling with persistent health worries, or facing other personal challenges, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can process your feelings at your own pace in your own time. I tailor my support to meet your specific needs.
